The popular campaign against Muhammad Ramadan.. Egyptians frustrate Sisi

The crime of normalization with Israel, which was committed by the Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan, while he was in the UAE, angered the Egyptian public opinion. There were calls for a boycott of his artwork, and even his social media accounts.

Some may see the attack on Muhammad Ramadan as an exaggeration, especially since the Egyptian official position on Israel does not consider it an enemy. Indeed, the Sisi regime is the closest ally of "Tel Aviv", and therefore, why attack an actor because he took a photo with an Israeli singer as long as the Egyptian state itself is on good terms with Israel, since the peace treaty was signed 40 years ago?

However, this is what should be clear to everyone: to us as the Egyptian people, but also to Arab peoples, to Arab governments, and to Israel itself, that the attack and anger against Muhammad Ramadan is new evidence that peace treaties with Israel were and will remain mere treaties between governments only, but all popular positions It rejects the existence of Israel and sees it as nothing but a usurping, occupying, criminal and murderous entity.

Art and sport also fall within these popular attitudes rejecting Israel and its existence, and not just normalization with it, especially if we view art as a reflection of peoples' conditions and true desires (and perhaps this is one of the most important reasons for the failure of art in Egypt, that it does not express the problems of the largest sector of Egyptians, And all the artwork became only capturing the life of the compound class and the rich only).

Although art in Egypt is far from the people's real pain, it remains among the popular positions that should not deviate from the popular agreement that hates Israel.
And if the Egyptians are forced to remain silent about the state of love between the Sisi regime and Israel, and before him the regimes of Sadat and Mubarak. And if Egypt is forced to normalize relations with Israel because of the Camp David Accords and the "peace" treaty, then we as an Arab people are not obliged to remain silent about the betrayal of Palestine (the most important Arab cause), however much Arab rulers betray it.

The Arab people are forced to remain silent about the betrayals of their rulers. With the rise of fascism in Arab governments, the Arab peoples are forced to remain silent about the betrayals of the rulers, fearing the expected repression in the event that they try to stand against these betrayals.
Therefore, the Arab peoples are silent on the official positions of the Arab countries regarding normalization with Israel, but they never allow it to be lured into the trap of betrayal, by refusing the peoples of any normalization in any other field, especially art, sports, culture and even science.

A large part of the Arab people knows perfectly well that normalization with Israel in informal areas such as art, sports and culture will take place on the orders of the Arab states and regimes themselves. Therefore, the Arab peoples' rejection of normalization in and of itself is a rejection of the normalization of Arab states, but from a back door.

In other words, the matter is simply as follows: Arab countries push artists, athletes and others to normalize from behind a curtain, and on the other side the peoples stand against the desires of states from behind a curtain as well. The most important thing in this game is that the popular rejection of informal normalization is violent, and the rejection develops into insults, contempt, humiliation and boycott of artists, athletes, and others who advance normalization with Israel.

This was repeated in the case of the Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan, who is in reality a mirror image of the current Egyptian regime, with all its betrayals, declines and decay. Therefore, I say that the picture of Muhammad Ramadan with the Zionist singer is just a reflection in the mirror of Sisi's picture with Netanyahu, but the reflection came 6 years later than the original image.

If there was another victim, other than Muhammad Ramadan, from the popular attack rejecting normalization with the Zionist enemy, then it would definitely be Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Al-Sisi had intended to take some steps of normalization during 2021, but at different stages and in reduced doses, for fear of the expected popular rejection. But the Emirati rush, and Mohammed bin Zayed's attempt to drag Egypt into faster normalization steps, backfired and frustrated President Sisi.
