About Me

Abdelrahman Kamal is an Egyptian journalist, political analyst, and researcher specializing in African affairs and the geopolitics of the Global South.

Academic & Professional Background

He holds a degree from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Minia University, alongside a Postgraduate Diploma in Political Science from the Faculty of Graduate African Studies at Cairo University, where he is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Political Science, with a dedicated focus on African Affairs.

Bridging academic rigor with field experience, Abdelrahman has built a diverse career in media and research. He has worked as a journalist for several prominent Egyptian newspapers and as a program producer for various Egyptian and Arab television networks and radio stations. Furthermore, he has served as a political researcher at the "Samt" Center for Studies, where he authored policy papers and political analyses exploring continental dynamics, regional conflicts, and political theories.

Research Interests & Intellectual Vision

Abdelrahman's research is deeply committed to anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist, and anti-zionist frameworks. His core areas of focus include Global South solidarity, resistance movements, international relations, state theories, and social justice.

He firmly believes that art, literature, and culture are inseparable from politics. In many ways, cultural mediums are far more potent and dangerous than traditional political discourse, given their unique ability to seamlessly bypass boundaries and shape public consciousness. Consequently, his intellectual vision posits that a true political researcher must remain deeply engaged with cultural shifts, popular narratives, and artistic expressions to understand the underlying currents driving global societies.

Mission of the Blog

This blog serves as an independent intellectual window, bringing the authentic perspective of a young Arab-Egyptian researcher directly to the English-speaking world. Founded to counter the historical hegemony of Western media, this platform aims to challenge mainstream narratives that frequently misrepresent the Arab region and the Global South as inherent hotbeds of conflict, backwardness, or terrorism.

Instead of relying on biased lenses or sponsored propaganda, Abdelrahman seeks to bridge a critical knowledge gap by providing an insider’s, ground-level analysis of African and Middle Eastern affairs. Through empirical reality and independent scholarship, this blog offers international readers alternative, rigorous perspectives that dismantle orientalist myths and foster a truthful understanding of the global struggles for self-determination.
